Also, our D6 Bargaining Committee started early bargaining with the Company beginning the week of February 8th. The Mobility contract expires February 26t, 2016. Please come and bring any questions, comments or concerns that you may have. We will have a few topics to cover and provide updates.

NEW IRS DEADLINES FOR FILING FORM 1095-C

The due date for 2015 information reporting requirements under I.R.C. sections 6055 & 6056 have been extended.

The due date for AT&T to furnish the 2015 Form 1095-C, Employer Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage, was changed from January 31, 2016 to March 31, 2016.

As a result of the extension, individuals might not receive a Form 1095-C by the time they file their 2015 tax returns. For further guidance please go to page 7 of https://www.irs.gov/uac/Recent-Development-2015-12-29-2015-Forms-1095B-1094B-1095C-and-1094C. You can also speak with your tax advisor.

UNION PLUS SCHOLARSHIPS

For over 20 years, the Union Plus Scholarship program has been making annual college scholarship awards to union family members. In total we’ve awarded more than $3.7 million in educational funding to more than 2,500 union members, spouses and dependent children!

Union Plus Scholarship awards are granted to students attending a two-year college, four-year college, graduate school or a recognized technical or trade school. Union families looking for help financing their education should check out the Union Plus Scholarship.

You still have time to submit your 2015 Union Plus Scholarship online application. The deadline is Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 12pm (noon) ET. If you haven’t already done so, start your application today.

In the online application, you can save your entries and return as many times as you need up until the deadline. Note, the application will require a letter of reference and two brief essays.

***IMPORTANT NEW 2015 TAX FORM***

Please be aware that there is a new tax form required, starting with the 2015 tax return called a Form 1095-C. The Affordable Care Act(ACA) requires AT&T to provide a Form 1095-C to all employees, former employees and dependents with health coverage through AT&T. AT&T will send you a completed Form 1095-C in late January. You will need the information to complete your 2015 tax return. This is proof of health coverage which the ACA requires you to have or you will have to pay a tax penalty.

The 1095-C includes information on medical coverage received through AT&T during any portion of 2015. The AT&T Form 1095-C does not include information about medical coverage received through a third party, such as another employer or an insurer.

The form has three parts.

Part I provides basic information about you and AT&T.

Part II provides details about the type of health care coverage the company offered to you. The IRS will use this information to determine if AT&T met the employer mandate of the ACA.

Part III of the 1095-C provides information about you and your dependents who received AT&T health coverage during the year. The box will be checked for each month that you and each of your dependents were enrolled in health coverage for at least one day of that month. The IRS will use this information to determine if you or your dependent(s) would incur a tax penalty for failure to have minimum required health coverage.
