Local Contract Explanation Meeting

We will be holding contract explanation meetings at the local Thursday, 3/22/2012 between 9:00AM-11:00AM and 6:00PM-8:00PM in advance of our ratification vote. The meetings will be held at the Union Hall at 405 50th Street.

Explanation Meeting Adjourned

At this time our delegates are traveling home from the explanation meeting. In the upcoming days we will review the information disseminated at the meeting to make certain we have a full understanding of this tentative agreement in advance of a ratification vote.

Explanation Meeting In Session

I will update this post as more information becomes available. At this time, Malashon is relaying that among the items mentioned in the District 6 brief, employees working for Workforce and the Office of The President can expect pay upgrades in this tentative agreement. EWP time will be able to be taken in single hour increments. Job upgrades to the titles of customer support spet, information systems tech, wireless tech, and tech-msc/rnoc are included. A transfer process between AT&T Core and Mobility is included, core employees will be job protected and transfer will be on a voluntary basis. Additionally, should an employee transfer from one AT&T company to another, benefits including FMLA eligibility will be preserved.

We are hearing that our bargaining committee was unsuccessful in getting AT&T to agree to restore healthcare as a bargaining item in this tentative agreement.

Additionally, the current pension plan remains unchanged, with no increases for the term of the agreement.

Guaranteed minimum commision of $12,500 for full time retail sales employees, prorated for part time retail sales employees.

April Membership Meeting

Due to New Officer Training scheduled for the first week of April, our monthly membership meeting is being moved to the second Tuesday in April, 4/10/2012 at 6:30 PM. We will be posting flyers on the union boards at all work locations as soon as practical.

Tentative Agreement Announced

District 6 has an announcement of the tentative agreement on its website.

We are cautiously optimistic at this point but awaiting concrete details.

Tentative Agreement Forthcoming

We are hearing that a tentative agreement between the Company and the Union has been reached. We will post details as the become available.

March Membership Meeting

This is a reminder that the March meetings are to be held on Tuesday, March 6th. The Executive board will be meeting at 5:30 PM with the general membership meeting set to start at 6:30 PM. All members are encouraged to attend!

Strike Vote Results Announced

The counts from all the locals are in to the district, and we are pleased to announce to our local members that the strike vote was massively approved; our bargaining committee will be able to take these numbers to the Company and show without a doubt that if AT&T Mobility is unwilling to agree to a fair contract, we are ready to take action.

Thanks you to everyone who participated in the vote for doing your part to help us win the contract we’ve earned!

Bargaining Update Call

The last bargaining update call to take place before the 2/24/2012 expiration of our contract is happening this Sunday, 2/12/2012 at 7:00 PM.  You can listen in on the call by texting UPDATE to 69866 or by visiting district6.cwa-union.org/mobilitycall and filling out a form to be added to the call, with an option to submit a question to be addressed on the call.

This call is going to be an important one as the Union and the Company have officially begun bargaining. The District has committed to using the majority of the call to field questions from members, which we can submit using the form linked-to above, or by speaking with a screener during the live call.

Based on feedback from employees, we understand that most members prefer to spend their Sunday evening listening to the call at home, with their families.  We agree!  If anyone has any questions or concerns about anything brought up on the call, we will be available to discuss them.

District 6 Bargaining Update Conference Call Meeting

The next mobility bargaining conference call will be Sunday, 1/29/2012 at 7:00 PM. We will be hosting a gathering at the Union Hall for all members who would like to participate. Come join us at 405 50th Street, we will open the doors at 6:30 PM; the conference call will start at 7:00 PM. We expect this call to last about an hour. We will have soft drinks on hand.

Remember, bargaining begins Tuesday, 1/31/2012 at 10:00 AM, this will be our last conference call before the first bargaining session begins.
