Bargaining Update Call
Posted: February 8, 2012 | Author: Patton | Filed under: Announcement, Bargaining | Leave a comment »The last bargaining update call to take place before the 2/24/2012 expiration of our contract is happening this Sunday, 2/12/2012 at 7:00 PM. You can listen in on the call by texting UPDATE to 69866 or by visiting district6.cwa-union.org/mobilitycall and filling out a form to be added to the call, with an option to submit a question to be addressed on the call.
This call is going to be an important one as the Union and the Company have officially begun bargaining. The District has committed to using the majority of the call to field questions from members, which we can submit using the form linked-to above, or by speaking with a screener during the live call.
Based on feedback from employees, we understand that most members prefer to spend their Sunday evening listening to the call at home, with their families. We agree! If anyone has any questions or concerns about anything brought up on the call, we will be available to discuss them.

At the AT&T Mobility local leadership conference, D6 staff join VP Claude Cummings, center, and CWA-TU members Blake Poindexter and Jamone Ross, 4th and 5th from left.CWA AT&T Mobility local leaders from across the Southwest met in Dallas Nov. 7-8 to discuss and vote on bargaining goals and priorities. The contract covering 9,400 Mobility workers in District 6 expires Feb. 24.
CWA District 6 Vice President Claude Cummings joined participants in discussing ways to build membership mobilization and support for organizing, and pledged support for T-Mobile workers trying to get their union.
Also at the meeting were two CWA-TU organizing committee members, technical care spets from T-Mobile in Frisco, Texas. Jamone Ross and Blake Poindexter talked about problems at their call center, including unattainable and constantly changing metrics, mass terminations and the lack of respect for workers on the job.
Ross and Poindexter got a firsthand look at CWA democracy in action, as Mobility members set bargaining goals, planned mobilization and moved forward on bargaining.

You need to do this even if you did the annual enrollment in October.
PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO DEPENDENT COVERAGE AND VOLUNTARY PLANS(Careplus, Supplemental Life, Child Life Insurance, etc). MOST EVERYONE IS SHOWN AS “SMOKERS” UNDER THE LIFE INSURANCE BENEFIT. Also the SPOUSAL & CHILD LIFE INSURANCE has additional coverage options available. Make sure ALL your dependents are listed. Also check to see if your doctor is in “network”. (Go to www.myuhc.com). Make the necessary changes.
Below are some examples of the changes:
1. You MUST meet the annual deductible before the insurance pays anything.
2. Once the annual deductible has been met you are responsible for 10% of the remain-
ing fees until you have met the annual maximum out-of-pocket.
3. Preventive in-network services paid at 100%
4. No coverage for preventative services out-of-network.
5. After you meet your annual maximum out-of -pocket the plan pays 100%
for in-network services.

It is strongly recommended that once you have completed your enrollment that you print it for your records.
