It will probably be several days before there is any news but what news there is will be posted here or available by recording on the hotline. You can keep up on the latest developments as well as what we are doing to show our solidarity. And remember if its not here or on the hotline . . . its a rumor!

January 30th bargaining will begin between CWA District 6 and AT&T Mobility for the new contract. Union members should plan to wear red to show our solidarity on that day. You can watch this site for news as bargaining progresses. We will post any information as soon as it is official so remember, if you haven’t seen it here . . . its a rumor.

The January monthly meetings of the local will he held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month because of the New Years holiday. The Executive Board will meet at 6:30 and the Membership Meeting will begin at 7:30.

Negotiations begin on January 30, 2008! We will introduce proposals to improve our union contract in every way possible. Here are a few of the items we’ll be fighting for:
* A significant wage increase for ALL CWA represented Retail, Network, and Call Center employees
* Improvements in our grievance procedure
* Rights to transfer to other parts of ATT and increased ability to bridge previous service
* Increased multilingual differential and extension to retail employees
* Improvements in pension plan
* A stronger voice in scheduling
* Increases and protection of commissions as well as improvements in quota relief
* Improvements in vacation, sick leave and holidays

Wireless VP Malashon Tennison, Chief Steward Andrea Perez and Executive Board Member Pat MacManus were in Dallas for the bargaining caucus to set the table for upcoming negotiations of the District 6 ATT Wireless contract. Local 6203 was the second largest delegation in attendance because of the size of our call center. Increased pay topped the list and your delegates voted to keep the local members’ issues on high on the agenda. Local President Jack Maxey and VP David Patton served as alternates.
