District 6 Working Without a Contract

CWA and AT&T continue to meet informally discussing on-going negotiations regarding possible ways to bridge the disagreement over AT&T’s health care proposals. CWA continues to press the company for better options than what is being offered & to modify proposals to be more acceptable. CWA is waiting on a response from AT&T.

Also, Local Presidents from District 6 were told to ask their membership how they felt about District 4’s tentative agreement & to provide the census to Andy Milburn. Andy stated he already knew how the leadership of the Locals felt but wanted to know about the membership. The majority of our Local 6203 voted that they would not agree to or accept what is in District 4’s TA.

CWA District 4 has reached a tentative agreement with AT&T in the Midwest; however, this agreement does not apply to District 6. Negotiations continue with CWA & AT&T bargaining Committees with the Union presenting the Company with formal proposals on TFTs & Premise Techs. CWA is currently reviewing the Company’s Medical Proposal. Yesterday, the Company presented two revised letters to the Union pertaining to Pensions & Healthcare Benefits. We will continue to bargain in an attempt to reach a fair, just, and equitable contract for District 6.
