AT&T SW – Upcoming Changes to AT&T Benefit Plans

The Union received notification from AT&T Labor Relation of Upcoming changes to AT&T benefit plans. AT&T is making a change to how new employees get enrolled in their 401(k)-retirement plan starting January 1, 2027.

Details:
401(k) Auto Enrollment
AT&T Retirement Savings Plan (ARSP)
AT&T Puerto Rico Retirement Savings Plan (ARSP-PR)

Effective January 1, 2027, new hires will be automatically enrolled in the applicable AT&T 401(k) plan at a 6% employee contribution rate if no action is taken within 60 days of hire. This includes the AT&T Retirement Savings Plan (ARSP) and the AT&T Puerto Rico Retirement Savings Plan (ARSP-PR), where applicable.
Upon hire, employees have the opportunity to enroll in the 401(k) plan or opt out. They may choose their own contribution rate in 1% increments or select the Easy Enroll option with preset contribution levels of 6%, 9%, or 12%.

If no action is taken within 60 days of hire, employees will be automatically enrolled at a 6% contribution rate. This change applies only to new hires or rehires on or after January 1, 2027. During this 60-day period, employees may stop the automatic enrollment and make their own enrollment and investment decisions, or they may elect to not be enrolled. Employees will receive multiple communications from Fidelity during this period.

Employees who are already enrolled will remain on their current contribution path based on prior elections. There is no change to the Auto Enrollment Annual Increase Program for bargained employees. All employees may adjust their contribution elections prospectively at any time. This update will be communicated in a Summary of Material Modifications (SMM) later this year.

Before scheduling a vision, exam or purchasing glasses or contacts, it’s a good practice to confirm that all providers involved are in‑network, including both the eye exam provider and the optical shop filling the prescription.
